“Jimmy Johnson’s Playland Park” by Ed Gaida

playlandpark_book_sales.jpg

Here’s an interesting piece of my family’s history:

“Jimmy Johnson’s Playland Park” by Ed Gaida, is a book about my grandfather, James Edward Johnson who built an amusement park in San Antonio, Texas in the late 30’s, and closed it in 1980. Some of the pictures in the book are ones that I’ve never seen before. I’m not through reading it - I’ve barely started since I just got it in the mail today. Ed was known as Uncle Ed and is still a best friend of the family’s.

I look forward to learning more about the Grandfather/Entrepreneur I never knew, and reliving such wonderful memories of PlayLand Park.

New Songs

So, I’m working on a self-produced album, which I was hoping to get out by this past summer, but life has a way of messing things up - tossing things around and seeing what how we handle them. Well, I moved to the Chicago area - much to my dismay - I went kicking and screaming and screaming and screaming…But now that things have settled down a bit, I was hoping to get the album out by Christmas. Since I’ve been involved with a production, I’ve put the album aside for now. Hopefully things will lighten up and I can concentrate on the music and get everything done by next summer 2008. We’ll see. Anyway…Here’s a few “rough drafts” for you to listen to.

Jennifer’s Song
I’ll Wait
Summer Love

Where the heck am I???

I’m in the Chicago area playing Mrs. Merkle in “Bye Bye Birdie”! As soon as we get some photos, I’ll post them up. This is a great cast to work with and I’m having a lot of fun!

Issues with postings

Hi ya’ll - I’m having some issues with my postings. It seems to only be saving 1/2 of the post I submit. I hope to get this fixed right away. :-)

New Addition - Paintings

For the past couple of months I’ve been needing a creative outlet, so much, that I’ve turned to painting.
It’s funny how during these creative outlet moments I do different things. It’s like a craving. This month, my creative outlet screams photography. Next month it could be graphic art. Last month it was composing songs.
